This program provides the basic information needed for a J-4 limited lawn sprinkler journeyperson. The topics included will provide a proper foundation of key concepts and irrigation principles to registered apprentices. The curriculum emphasizes efficient irrigation design and water management to promote conservation practices within the industry. In addition to a focus on conservation, fundamental maintenance and troubleshooting techniques will be provided that align with the best management practices of the irrigation trade. By the end of this program, students should have a strong knowledge base of core principles that maintain a standard of conservation to implement throughout their career. 


STEPS TO COMPLETE THIS PROGRAM:


All required self-led & classroom instruction must be completed prior to becoming eligible for taking the CT J-4 Limited Lawn Sprinkler journeyperson examination. Upon completing the program requirements CICA* will issue certification of eligibility for licensure examination.  


IMPORTANT - You must maintain two logins to complete the program: 1) CICA and 2) CICA-IrriTech Training.  By registering for this course, you authorize both CICA and Irritech Training access to your personal and program data as needed for management of the program (including communications and issuance of certificates). 

*The Connecticut Irrigation Contractors Association (CICA) is the leading membership organization for irrigation professionals, contractors and suppliers. 


Step 1: Obtain CT Apprentice Card through CT Department of Labor and Upload CT Apprentice Card on CICA Website


Step 2: Complete 54-hour self-led training + 20 hours of CIT self-led online course & pass the CIT certification exam. Please note, exam registration fees are a NOT included in the cost ($820) of the self-led online course. 


Step 3: Complete 40 hours of classroom-related in-person curriculum. This will be a weeklong training event; the dates will be finalized soon and will be announced to all the registered apprentices. Cost: $500


Step 4: Independently complete a self-led OSHA-30-Construction training course. We will provide recommendations for OSHA-30 training facilities and instructors.


Please note a seperate course registration is required for each program participant. Upon completion of Step 1 & 2 there will be a certificate issued matching the name on the account.
